All FAQs →Do I pay at the counter?
No, on your phone.
- Scan the tag (or tap your phone to its top).
- Pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a card.
- At the counter, tap Activate proof of purchase and show staff your screen: it says Paid, names your plant, and shows a ticking clock.
- Take the plant home.
Do the staff know the plants are for sale?
Yes. The place agreed to host the plants and knows what proof of purchase looks like. Staff don’t take payment; PILF does.
Can I buy it online and then pick it up later?
Yes, within 5 days.
- Pay on the plant’s page from wherever you are.
- If you gave your email, the link is there too; if not, keep the page open or send yourself the link with your phone’s Share button.
- At the counter, activate your proof of purchase, not before. It doesn’t start on its own, and it’s live for an hour once tapped.
- Show it to staff and take the plant home.
Can I buy one for someone else?
Yes. Pay, then send them the link to your proof of purchase (from your email, or your phone’s Share button). They activate it at the counter and take the plant home.
Can I return a plant?
No. You see the plant before you pay, and you carry it out yourself. If it struggles at home, send us a photo and we’ll help you sort it out. Terms of sale →
